Colsalud Talents
The “Talentos Colsalud” musical and dance group was formed as a cultural and social inclusion opportunity for children and young people with cognitive and/or sensory disabilities. They have performed at local, regional, and national events, gaining social and cultural recognition in multiple settings. Additionally, their presence has helped shift public perceptions regarding exclusion and respect for differences.
In 2006, 35 children with various disabilities joined the group, and research work continued on their learning processes through programs focused on integration, socialization, attention, memory, discipline, and motor development. These were achieved through rhythmic musical activities, group work, instrumental performance, and collective practices to form the Talentos Colsalud Musical Group.
Currently, the Talentos Colsalud Musical Group includes 110 children and young people with cognitive and/or sensory disabilities. Besides receiving music lessons, participants share a cultural and adaptive space where, through their life experiences, they learn to respect and coexist with others.
Through these workshops, children and young people recognize music as a sensitizing force, fostering values of coexistence, tolerance, and acceptance of each individual as part of their environment.
The performances they carry out include Christmas novenas, concerts, and presentations of various dance rhythms.
